Upcoming Meeting

Our next meeting will be held Wednesday April 16th 7:00pm at AE Cross school library (3445 37th St SW).  Please join us for the discussion on internet guidelines for parents and setting children up for safe internet use.

The presentation is strongly applicable to parents of middle school children, however, the meeting will also provide elementary school parents with great starting information, as well as offer high school parents warning signs of dangers.

We would love to see you join us for our next meeting.  If you have any questions, please contact us.

March meeting follow up - SPARK

SPARK is meant to be part of comprehensive school health.   Based on the book - SPARK – The Revolutionary New Science of Exercise and the Brain, by John J. Ratey - many schools are incorporating elements of this research into their daily plans.  The idea is to tap into the brain-body connection by incorporating physical activity into the first portion of a child's morning, which has been shown to improve learning and behaviour throughout the day.  A summary of the meeting discussion can be found here.  You may also wish to view this 45 minute webinar by Dr. John Ratey explaining SPARK and why it is so helpful to students

SMART Board Warranties

With many schools beginning to run out of warranty on their SMART Boards, CAPSC has been informed that SMART will no longer be able to support the old technology, meaning massive changes may be required.  We are curious to know how many SMART Boards you have in place and when you will be running out of warranty.  Please drop us a quick line with that information.
