MEETINGS
DON'T MISS OUR NEXT MEETING!
We've got an unbelievable line-up of very
timely (and some controversial) topics. The
Conversation Cafe style meeting will feature two
guests from Alberta Education: one will talk about
the proposed changes to the Fine Arts Curriculum
and the other will speak about changes to math
and science diploma exams. As well, we'll hear
from a speaker from the Alberta Teachers'
Association regarding testing and assessment, a
speaker regarding scholarships, and three
Trustees available to answer your questions. For
more information on all of these speakers, check
out our November newsletter. This meeting is a
MUST NOT MISS event. Hope to see you there!
The meeting will take place from 7:00 - 9:00
pm on Wednesday, November 18th, 2009 at
AE Cross Jr. High. Due to the expected
popularity of this meeting, we ask that you limit
attendance to three parents from each school.
Don't forget to bring your membership cheque to
the meeting: just $40 per year per school council
keeps you up to date, informed, and helps us
make sure your opinions are heard at the CBE
and Alberta Education!
LAST MEETING RECAP:
A recap of our October meeting will be
available here soon!

past meetings, please click here.
NEWSLETTER:
Our October Newsletter is available here!
Highlights include a summary of the proposed
"anti-bullying" bill, an update on the Inspiring
Education Initiative, details on possible changes
to how casino funds are allocated, a summary
of our candid Q&A with CBE's new Chief
Superintendent, and much more.
WHAT'S NEW:
We've relaunched our Blog forum. There are
so many important issues and concerns regarding
education in our province and city that we
thought we should provide an ongoing forum for
information and discussion. We hope to see
your comments on our Blog soon!
