THE PLAN
The Traffic Safety around our schools in Calgary is a real problem! The Calgary School Traffic Safety Week makes a big difference. Your school or community group can join in this year. It is incredibly easy to do. There are 6 tools to use: tsk.capsc.ca Pick one or do all 6! They are easy, fun, effective, and have been approved by Calgary Police Services.
THE TOOLS
There is something for everyone: an art contest for kids, handouts for parents, a quick (15 minutes) and effective safety campaign that takes only two people and is ALL positive, a couple of quick videos made just for Calgary kids to start a great group discussion, and a pledge for community members to try. We’ve updated and added things since last year and made them even better! A big thanks to Calgary Motor Dealers Association and Alberta Traffic Safety Fund for their financial assistance with this important project. Join in and make a difference!
THE PERKS
Schools and groups who participate will be invited to join us on November 6 at the city-wide gala Awards Night. Community leaders and stakeholders will be there to applaud you and prizes and awards will be given to students and participants. It was a great event last year with special guests and classy entertainment.
