Since 2001, the Calgary Association of Parents and School Councils (CAPSC) has acted as an independent voice for parents and parent councils. As an independent Society, CAPSC is also able to take action. Our mandate is to:
- promote excellence in education for all children attending Calgary schools
- provide a forum which allows school councils, parents and other organizations to network and develop a united voice
- empower school councils and parents to participate in and influence decisions about education
- gather and disseminate information that is related to the delivery of education to students in Calgary.

CAPSC is a not-for-profit association that provides relevant and ongoing information and support to parents, as well a forum for discussion and a network for parents and school councils across Calgary. Our assistance to parents and councils enables them to more fully contribute to and shape the education of children.
We strive to provide parents and school councils with a wealth of information and resources to help them be true partners in education. Parents of children in any school in Calgary are welcome to attend our meetings, and individual memberships are currently free thanks to the generosity of a corporate sponsor. We are constantly striving to encourage additional membership in order to grow our voice.
CAPSC executive consists of at least six highly motivated and enthusiastic volunteers, who are elected by our membership at the annual general meeting. We are funded by membership fees and donations.
